NonprofitJOURNEYS provides emergency shelter located in the facilities of faith communities in our service area and at various interim housing sites. These sites provide clients with a safe place to sleep at night as well as dinner, breakfast, and a sack lunch the next day. Volunteers work in shifts throughout the night in order to provide a positive experience for clients experiencing homelessness. Check website for more information.

Safe Families for Children
NonprofitA Safe Families for Children "Family Friend" volunteer will be connected with an at-risk family that would benefit from a healthy support system. A "Family Friend" volunteer can also support Host Families by providing meals, respite care, transportation, etc. As a Family Friend, you will: provide friendship and encouragement, share helpful information about parenting and life, support parents who have children staying with Host Families, advocate for families seeking resources for their children, such as schools or mental and physical health services

SPECIAL GIFTS THEATRE
NonprofitPeer Mentors are needed for the Palatine/Rolling Meadows location to support our Musical Theatre students. Classes start November 9th at Conyers Learning Academy in Rolling Meadows from 4:30pm to 6pm through April. Seeking teens to young adults to help our students shine on stage!

Safe Families for Children
Nonprofit"Resource Friends" assist Host Families and Families in Crisis with goods and services they may need. This help may come in the form of gently used equipment, children’s furniture and clothes. A Resource Friend can also donate their professional services when needed, especially if they are healthcare providers, day care providers, barbers or stylists.
